First Day on the Job

Tonight, on the US and NC Constitutions, I affirmed my oath which was led by Judge Ashleigh Parker Dunston. I don't think I can describe the feeling, but I felt like I could barely speak then I wanted to shed a tear at the end. More than anything, after thanking those in attendance, I just wanted to get to work.

And that's how I'm going to be as a member of the Wake School Board. I've already visited 12 of my 22 schools. I've already asked questions of staff about issues. I already have a meeting set with all four Area Superintendents that cover my schools. I'm ready to work.

Lastly, and not surprisingly, I'm already known as the guy in the hat at WCPSS offices. Yes, I'll

take it off for board meetings and no I don't normally look that intense, but it's a thing now. Makes me happy cause I wasn't gonna stop wearing one.
