Sanderson invited me to pretty much everything so they will get their own post. I was at some extraordinary events and met some extraordinary people.
On Jan. 31st I attended their mid-year graduation ceremony. It was a joyous occasion for a lot of families that day and it was a lot of fun seeing the happiness on the face of those young adults.
on Feb. 8th, I attended Rachel's Challenge. It's about Rachel Joy Scott, who was one of the victims of the Columbine shooting in 1999. I shed some tears that night and it always makes me angry that we've done nothing as a country to curb gun violence and school shootings since that time.
On Feb. 24th I attended their Black History Celebration. Amazing performances and stories told by some of Sanderson's best. Greer Webb, a Spartan alum, gave the main address.
Finally, on June 15th at 8 pm at the Raleigh Convention Center, I was honored to be on the stage for Sanderson's year end graduation.
